Rehana’s Story

Rehana’s story of courage, support and a fresh start

Rehana came to Cadrene after years of domestic abuse, unsure where to turn for help. With ongoing support, guidance and encouragement, she took steps towards a safer future for herself and her children. Today, she continues to attend Cadrene’s group sessions, build friendships and look forward with renewed hope.

I found Cadrene Supported Living through a friend after experiencing domestic abuse for around ten years. As a British Pakistani woman with limited English, I felt alone and unsure where to turn for help.

For over two years, Cadrene supported me with guidance, encouragement and help to understand my options. Following an attack by my husband, I contacted the police and, with the help of a solicitor, obtained a non-molestation order.

Life was difficult at first, but today, my children and I are happier and more settled. They are thriving at school, and our lives are no longer filled with the same stress and uncertainty.

I still attend Cadrene’s group sessions, where I socialise, make friends and feel part of a community.

Life has been hard, but today I feel free, more confident and hopeful for the future. Cadrene’s support has helped me build a better life for myself and my children.
